Framed

While I was in Dallas this weekend, Jeff went up to Snoqualmie with my dad and checked out the progress of our house. It is coming right along! First floor is framed!
The top few pictures are of the front of the house and last few are of the back of the house. Our driveway and garage sit on the back side of our home. Check out our first post to see what the end result will be!

No Smoking...Thinks

I saw this sign posted in a cab in Chicago. No Smoking...THANKS!

So, is it a requirement for cabs in Chicago to honk? They honk at everything! I think it is almost as bad at NYC! And, did they all get together and decide to make every passenger car sick? I swear, they slam on the gas and then they slam on the brakes. It goes something like this: honk, honk, go really fast, stop abruptly, go really fast, stop abruptly, go really fast, honk, honk, stop abruptly, honk, and so on, and so on. I just about puked! They must be punishing each passenger because they hate their job so much. That is my only guess!

I was in Chicago at the Fancy Food Show for work and I also did a chocolate tour (I know...life's rough). If you are ever there, visit Vosge and Coco Rouge. At Coco Rouge, try the white chocolate and almond milk with Spanish Safron. Amazing!

Breaking Ground

They have dug the trenches for the footings and secured the footings for the foundation within the trenches. You can also see that they have added re-bar reinforcements (steel bars used to increase the strength of concrete). Next they will pour the foundation...should be happening any day!
