Braden's 1st Camping Trip!

Papa & Mimi drove up from Texas with their RV and we met them in Deception Pass at the end of July for Braden's 1st camping trip! We had so much fun! We also camped with some of my old highschool friends and their kids. Andrea & Jonny were there with their boat and took us out to catch crab. At the end of a sun-filled day, we had a big crab feast and enjoyed the beautiful views!

Madeleine & Braden were so excited when the tent was set-up...it was their little indoor playground! The actually slept in the RV with Papa & Mimi though which was much warmer and way more comfortable! They slept great! 

My dad drove up for the day and hung out!

A baby seal was on the beach ALL day. The mama seal was out gathering food for it. We were told to stay far away and the kids listened very well. It was neat to see.

We headed out to Fort Casey the next day and stopped for ice-cream - delicious! You know you are on vacation when you eat ice-cream before lunch!

Blueberry Picking

We met Katy & Carsen for some blueberry picking! Madeleine was finally able to come along. We got a lot of blueberries - yum!

Sounders Game

I took my dad to a Sounders Game for Father's Day! We had a great time together! Before the game we had lunch. It was a beautiful day to be outside at the game!

Ocean Shores Tri & Foot Fest - 1/2 Ironman!!!

Over the weekend, Jeff & I headed down to Ocean Shores to compete in our first 1/2 ironman relay! I swam 1.2 miles, Jeff rode 55 miles and our friend Kristen ran 13.1. The weather was absolutely beautiful for our race! There were only 3 relay teams total but a ton of people doing the entire 1/2 ironman on their own...incredible! We came in second place and came home with a little trophy...sort of silly since only 3 teams competed but hey, we'll take it!

The week leading up to our event was full of stress. First, I pulled some muscles in my back and then Braden got sick over at my brothers house. I was so stressed out that I barely slept the night before the race. Thankfully, Braden started to perk up on Saturday and they gave us the ok to stay. It was a much needed get away for Jeff & I. I am so thankful that my brother and sister-in-law took such good care of Braden while he was sick. Madeleine had a great time with cousin Kathryn.

Right when we thought the worst was behind us, Jeff gets hit by a car during his race! He is OK! His entire left side is a bit bruised but he felt good enough to complete the race. Afterwards, we grabbed dinner and drinks and were in bed by 8:00, lights out and fast asleep. What a weekend. We are ready to all feel better!

Off to camp!

Braden had his first camp experience this past week. He loved it! He had no problem at all going in without me. He learned all about fish and the sea at his camp. Madeleine was at the same place doing a Magical School Bus themed camp. Turns out Braden caught a tummy bug though and got sick over the weekend :(

Picking Raspberries

We met Kristine & Molly for some more berry picking while the big girls were at camp! Braden & Molly loved picking and eating the raspberries!

T-Ball

Coach Jeff & Madeleine started their season last week! Madeleine is on the same team as Audrey & Taylor! Poor Braden is heart broken that he can't play. 

Each week they practice for a 1/2 hour and then play a 1/2 hour game!
