Suncadia

We took a family trip over to Suncadia for a little get-away! We were suppose to go over Mid-Winter break but the pass was closed so we had to re-schedule. We swam, went sledding, went down the water slides, hit the ice-skating rink and finished the trip off with s'mores!

The resort and rooms are beautiful! Each room has a full kitchen so we just relaxed and had pizza after swimming the first day. The next morning, we have a lovely 5:40am wake-up by the fire alarm. Obviously, this was not the way we hoped to start our day :) The alarm woke us up, then it woke Braden up and of course, Madeleine slept through it. But then Braden woke her up. An early morning for everyone....but we powered through. No way was I missing any of the resort activities.

The kids had a blast playing out in the snow. They were out there FOREVER! They actually only used the sled a few times...they were more interested in the little igloo fort someone made. My favorite part of the day was ice-skating with Madeleine. We had the entire rink to ourselves. It was truly magical to skate under the twinkling lights with my little girl. Little Braden was just too tired to join us. Jeff stayed behind with him and watched a movie. It was good for him to take a little rest. We then all met up for s'mores before heading home. Jeff & I got a moment to chat during happy hour at the winery. We put a little show on for the kids and chatted - that was fun too!

The trip was far from perfect but these are some highlights from the trip...screaming toddler not included!

A day with Braden

On Tuesdays, I watch two little boys who Braden loves to play with! We usually go to story time and then head back home to play. Below are some pics of Braden with his buddy Diesel :)

Braden is starting to enjoy baking and cooking with me. He made scrambled eggs for dinner the other night. He had so much fun!

Visit to Lions Bay

We headed up to Lions Bay to visit my old college roomie! We had so much fun visiting and seeing where they live. Absolutely stunning views from their home.

We walked down to the beach as soon as we arrived.

Baby Brynne and I - my first time meeting her!

The next morning we headed up to Whistler - just a short drive from their house! We lucked out with sunny weather. We had planned on sledding but their was not enough snow so we went ice skating instead. Madeleine is getting so good - she started with a walker but soon abandoned it for skating on her own!

Madeleine & Audrey are just 6 months apart in age. They both adore My Little Pony. They played ponies for hours on end. We did not hear a peep from them.

After a fun day of walking through the village and skating, we had drinks and snacks - cheers!

Big Boy Braden!

Our little baby boy Braden is becoming a BIG BOY! He has started to potty train and is doing very well! He is also moving into his big boy bed! We bought him a bunk bed and the kids LOVE it! Braden has to earn his nights in the Big Boy bed by going potty all day in the potty....otherwise, he's back in his crib.

His new super hero bedding hasn't arrived yet but the kids were just too excited so we put Madeleine's sheets on his bed. The first night, Braden earned his first night on the top bunk and the second night, Madeleine got a turn to sleep on the top. That's it for the slumber parties though...at least on school nights. All is back to normal with Madeleine in her room and Braden in his. More pictures to come once we get all the new bedding and get the room painted! He'll be one happy boy sleeping with super heroes!

Happy 6th Birthday Madeleine

We celebrated Madeleine's 6th Birthday a few weeks ago! She had a very fun birthday! We started off the week making m&m cookies for her class.

The morning of her birthday, she woke up to balloons and a special Top Pot Donut along with a few gifts from family - Braden gave her new fuzzy socks, she's headed to summer camp thanks to Grandma JJ & GG, new cute pj's from Mimi & Papa and fun games from Aunt Sarah & Gail. Thank you!!!

Jeff volunteered in her class on her birthday - a special treat for Madeleine!!! The whole class sang her Happy Birthday and Braden & I delivered the yummy cookies!

When Madeleine arrived home, Grandma was waiting for her - she went on a surprise adventure up to the American Girl Doll store and got to pick a new doll! Out of all the dolls to pick, Madeleine picked the Girl of the Year - Isabelle! Madeleine was so surprised and had so much fun with Grandma - thank you!

Isabelle came with highlights so she went straight to the hair salon ;)

Afterwards, Grandma, Madeleine, Isabelle & I had tea at the American Girl Doll Bistro. Isabelle was served a special dessert because it was her first day in our family and Madeleine was served lots of treats for her birthday!

Isabelle met her doll sister Marabelle when she arrived home. Both joined us for breakfast the next morning :)

That weekend, we celebrated with all of Madeleine's friends at a pool party! This was the kind of party that was fun for the kids, not so much for the adults - LOL!

Jazz & Tap

Madeleine started jazz & tap! She is very excited to take dance again!

Frozen

We took the kids to see Frozen on New Years Day. They both loved it! We've been waiting and waiting for good movie to take the kids to. Madeleine saw Winnie the Pooh a few years ago and this was Braden's first time in a theater! We've since bought the soundtrack to the movie and listen to it CONSTANTLY :)
