ABC's & Playing the Drums!

Here are a few videos of Madeleine. She loves to play her new drum set and sing her ABC's. If you listen closely, you can hear her counting to 10 when she is playing the drums!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Madeleine & I started our weekend at Sky High jump in Bellevue with friends while Jeff played poker with the boys. Madeleine & I loved sky high jump - all trampoline floors & walls. Madeleine was so hot & sweaty afterwards. I've never seen her suck down a bottle of water so fast!

Saturday night I went out with the girls to celebrate Kristy's birthday! We saw "Valentine's Day" and everyone loved it. Such a cute movie!

Sunday Jeff & I enjoyed our day together by visiting a favorite winery in Woodinville, ate a yummy dinner and thanks to Kristy & D'juan, saw Annie at the Paramount theater! It turned out to be a really great evening! Our original plan was to see Avatar but the movie was STILL sold out. Our friends didn't feel well and graciously gave their Annie tickets to us. Jeff & I saw Annie on our first date 6 years ago and seeing it again tonight brought back a lot of wonderful memories!

That Doesn't Belong There!

Cheese! Madeleine stuck a big piece of cheese up her nose this weekend while we were driving and we didn't know it. She kept saying "nose, cheese". So I had her blow her nose and out came a big piece of cheese! GROSS! It was only up there a few seconds but we made a big deal about not putting things up our noses!!!

Weekend Fun!

We had a great weekend! It started off with a beautiful Saturday and a birthday party for Madeleine to attend! Jeff enjoyed time at home doing guy stuff while Madeleine & I played at the party. Jeff took Madeleine for a wilderness walk that afternoon while I went for a nice run and enjoyed the weather. Madeleine loves to go walking through all the trails up here and you would be surprised at how far she can walk! She loves it!

Sunday we enjoyed a Superbowl party at Dave & Staci's house! We've watched Superbowl with them every year for the last couple of years and it is becoming a fun tradition! This year was a lot of fun for us too because Madeleine is becoming so much more independent and plays on her own so we actually got to sit, talk AND watch the game. I actually saw a few of the commercials this year! Last year we were constantly running after Madeleine. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures.

Monday was another beautiful day and Jeff was on his flex day so we decided to play outside at a new park we found. We all had a lot of fun! Check out this LOOONG slide! Madeleine zipped down this thing so fast and she loved every minute of it!

They even have toys for Jeff to play on!

Madeleine is getting really good at talking and is always saying "Mommy do it too". So almost everything Madeleine did, I had to do. I went on the swings with her, I went down the slide with her (my butt barely fit on the first slide!) and I had to go on these toys with her...again, my butt barely fit but I smiled and played with her anyways!

Beep Beep! Get out of my way, I'm shopping! On our way home we stopped for some groceries. This was Madeleine's first time in one of these shopping carts and she has so much fun!

Birthday Party Fun!

Madeleine was invited to a Birthday party over the weekend and she has so much fun! Her friend JD turned two! Her little friend Audrey was invited too so Madeleine had a lot of fun seeing her friends!

Madeleine jumped up on the piano bench and started playing! She loved playing the piano...too bad we got rid of ours.

JD had kindermusic come to his party which was so much fun for all the kids! They played instruments, streamers, sang songs, danced and played with all kinds of neat toys!

Yes, my friend Katy made this for her little boy! I couldn't believe it! The cake was awesome!

Happy Birthday JD!

Big Potty!

Potty Update! Madeleine has been going "pee pee" & "poo poo" on the potty for awhile now but ONLY when Jeff & I suggest it. She never tells us that she has to go so we are still a ways off from consistently going I think. But we switched from going in her little princess potty to the big potty. I've heard that if they get too used to only going on a little potty then they won't go on a big potty when you need them to, like when we are out running errands, ect. So we put her potty seat on the big potty and she seems to like it!

Today she went "pee pee" & "poo poo" in the big potty! Hooray for Madeleine! She gets very excited because then we sing our potty song and wash our hands. I never thought I would talk about pee or poop so much....never thought I would sing about it so often...never thought I would get her baby dolls and teddy bears to dance to the potty song either. Wow, life has surely changed!

Playing Outside in January???

We've had beautful weather here in the Northwest! January was the warmest on record for the Seattle area! Today it is sunny and 56 degrees out so we went outside to play with no coats. Is it really winter? Whatever the reason, we'll take it!

Here is Madeleine with her new haircut! We went into Bellevue last night to meet Jeff for some shopping, dinner and then a haircut for Ms. Madeleine. She has so much fun at the Dooz Salon for kids. She got to sit in a fun chair that had a horn, watched Elmo and played with toy after toy while getting her haircut! And afterwards she got to go press a button for a prize! WOW! We had them cut her hair shoulder length with some short bangs and little layers around the face. Now it is finally out of her eyes and she seems much happier! She's wearing her new Valentine's Day outfit too :-)

We had a really fun night until Madeleine got pushed off the big toy in the kids play area at the mall. When I say big toy, I mean BIG! It is as tall as me. This little boy just pushed her right off but luckily I was there to catch her before she hit the ground. It scared all three of us. As you can imagine, we left shortly after and won't be back for awhile.

We are practicing wearing head bands too! She likes her sparkly pink head band for about 5 minutes and then takes it right off. We'll see...
