Papa & Mimi Visit Seattle!

Papa & Mimi are here for there yearly visit! We headed into Seattle today to see the Pike's Place Market and the waterfront. We had lots of fun looking around and picking up lots of yummy treats :)

Madeleine liked seeing the cheese being made at Beecher's!

Yum! Which treat should we get???

Braden ran around like crazy with his strawberry face!

Hip Hop!

A new dance & gymnastic place has opened in North Bend and they offered a free mini hip hop class the other day. We have been wanting to check it out so we picked up Madeleine's friend Siena and headed over. More friends met us there and the girls were so cute learning their hip hop moves in class. So fun! I think we will try a class there soon!

Lemonade for sale!

We got a really great idea from my friend Shannon to build a little lemonade stand out of a big cardboard box. She built a little post office and a car out of one and I loved the idea.

I called down to Loew's and they had a refridgerator box that that said they would hold (for free). We brought it home, Jeff cut it out to look like a little lemonade stand and we spraypainted it bright yellow! Madeleine loves it and it cost us about $10.00 at most. Today we opened the lemonade stand and we had quite a few neighbors stop by! We aren't really selling it...just giving it out for free but she got lots of tips! :) Madeleine loves to play in it and visit with all the neighborhood kids who stop by!

Happy Father's Day!

As I read through the blog, I find that most of the posts are about the kids and occasionally me since I write our family blog...but we have one very important family member that cannot be forgotten...Jeff or dada or DADDY!

We appreciate him very much! Each day he works so hard and comes home and works even harder. We all love him so much! He has always been Madeleine's favorite and is seeming to be Braden's too...he is the most fun and most patient of the two of us. The kids go absolutely bonkers when he drives in, Madeleine screams "DADDY" and Braden runs to the door smiling. He deserves a welcome home like that.

We were a busy bunch on Father's Day. We hosted my family for dinner and celebrated all the dads! Jeff was able to sleep in and when Madeleine couldn't take it any longer, she busted in the room and woke him up with presents, hugs & kisses. Braden and I just stood by & laughed! We were so busy that day that I never got any photos but here is one of our family just a few days before...

Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful dad's out there...especially to my husband and my dad!

Braden's 15-month appointment

Braden had another check-up. Wow, this boy is getting so big! Of course, we don't have a picture of him because he won't sit still for one! Here are his stats:

He is 2'8.75" tall (89%) & weighs 29.3 lbs. (93%)

Our sweet little boy is giving us a run for our money this past week. I've never seen such a little person throw such a BIG tantrum! Oh my! He's been full of yelling, growling and hitting this week. I hope this phase is short :) Jeff & I have been falling behind on signing with him so we are going to try harder so we can give him some tools in hopes that he doesn't get so frustrated.

He's still a good sleeper and lets us snuggle with him a bit before he goes to sleep. He is very curious...in other words, he's into everything and constantly on the move! Keeping us very, very busy!!!

Madeleine's Last Day of Preschool!

Today was Madeleine's last day of school this year. Lucky us, we have one more year at DPS next year for Pre K! I didn't think I would be sad but I left a little teary eyed. Time just flies by so fast but we are enjoying these precious moments.
Here is Madeleine all ready for her last day and Crazy Olympics day!

Madeleine & Alexa, our carpool buddy next year!

Madeleine & Siena with little sis Ireland. Siena is one of Madeleine's favorites but she is off to kindergarten next year. Luckily she lives around the corner so we will see her lots!

Madeleine with Ms Jen - we love you Ms Jen!!!

Madeleine with her carpool buddy, Lexie!

Madeleine came home to a fun surprise...a bean bag chair with lots of books from the library! Time to get started on that summer reading!

She loves it!

Issaquah Sprint Triathlon!

We finished! The Issaquah Triathlon was a lot of fun and very well organized. My friend Heather & I were up at 4am, got our Starbucks and were at the park at 5:30 to set-up.

The wave I was in (by age) was relatively small so when we started in the water, there weren't very many of us. Still, I sort of panicked in the water! I think a combination of people swimming so close to me, my competitive side coming out and wanting to swim faster and the cold water all contributed. I swam breast stroke most of the way to the first buoy but once I reached it, I calmed down and was able to swim crawl stroke the rest of the way.

The bike was the easy part. I feel like I kept up a good pace. Once I hit the run, I was very slow...but I NEVER stopped and that was my goal! Hooray! Going from the bike to run was so hard! I only passed one person on the run...I got passed by many people - LOL! I made it to the finish and was so happy to see Jeff, the kids and my parents all cheering me on! My friend Shannon also came down to cheer us on and she & my mom took most of the pictures below. Thanks everyone for your well wishes and support!
