Odin, Odin and more Odin!

We celebrated Odin's 2-year birthday over the weekend at a park in Bothell! All the kids had fun, especially Odin who kept telling everyone, "I'm two dude"! He copies whatever anyone says so we would make it him switch it up and say "I'm two man" or the funniest, "oh crap, I'm two" but it sounded more like "o cwap, I two"!

All the kids wanted to swing - here is Odin, Madeleine and Samara

What's so funny?

Jeff & I sure liked the cupcakes but Madeleine could have cared less

Here is Taylor - such a cutie pie posing for the camera!

Madeleine & Jeff playing

Everyone crowds Odin as he opens presents - the choo choo set was a hit

Madeleine's first experience with play-doh! She liked it despite the look on her face here!

The same group came over today for a playdate and they couldn't get enough food. I've never seen a group of toddlers eat so much!

Puyallup Fair!

We headed down to the Puyallup Fair today and had beautiful weather for it! It's been years since Jeff or I have been but we thought it would be fun to take Madeleine to now that she is old enough to get some enjoyment out of it. Aside from the horrible trafic, we had a lot of fun!

The first thing to do on my list when we arrived was to get the famous scones served at the fair and boy, it certainly lived up to my expectations! Yum!!! The next thing on our agenda was to see all the animals since Madeleine knows what animals are what and can make their sounds. She really enjoyed it! Sadly, I forgot my camera at home so I had to use my phone as my camera as you can see below :-(

But, of all the things we saw today, Madeleine's favorite part was taking the shuttle from the mall parking lot to the actual fair. It was a large bus that shuttled us over and Madeleine kept screaming "bus" over and over, jumping up and down because she was so excited - go figure!

Below is Madeleine enjoying her very first taste of chocolate milk at the dairy bar and she loved it!

It's almost over...teething that is!

Last time I wrote about teething was August 18th and I think we are finally seeing the light at the end of the teething tunnel...until the two-year molars that is! Oh man, it's been a bit rough around here. Madeleine has been up at night since mid-August more than she has slept through the night. 3/4 cuspid teeth are poking through and I've heard once they get through the gum, they don't hurt as much. So now she is just working on the last one and I can see the white of the tooth so I am praying that this is over soon!

She has slept through the night the last three nights but today she was an absolute mess with her hands in her mouth constantly and very fussy. We'll see what the night brings!

Stretching Out The Summer!

We headed over to Kristine & Lexie's house for a playdate and let the kids play outside and run in the sprinkler! The kids got a kick out of drinking from the sprinkler - very funny to watch! We took full advantage of the hot weather in the last week but I can tell that Fall is approaching fast. While I enjoyed the hot sunny days, I think I am finally ready for a change in pace and for Fall to arrive.

Madeleine and Aspen walking hand-n-hand! SO CUTE!

Oh wow, life just doesn't get any better than when you drink from a sprinkler! These two just couldn't stop laughing!

Mommy & Madeleine at Kelsey Creek Farm

This was our second visit to Kelsey Creek farm and again, most of the animals were not out. A bit disappointing but Madeleine got to see a cow and horse walk by, a pig up close and a few chickens and bunnies. We met my friend Amy there with the twins and she took a nice picture of Madeleine & I. Thanks Amy!

Madison Joy Campana arrives!

Madison Joy Campana has arrived! One of my best friends, Melissa, delivered Madison Joy on 9/9/09!!! 999 - so cool! Melissa is literally glowing and her husband Joe is so excited to have their daughter finally in their arms! I visited them at the hospital today and everyone is looking healthy and happy!

Melissa is a dear friend of mine from WWU. I am so happy for her!

Happy Birthday, Happy Anniversary!

My brother, Sharyn and I all have birthdays in August and my parents have an anniversary in August so we decided to get together and celebrate! Unfortunately, my parents have had to move my grandparents into an assisted living home recently and my mom was still down South dealing with everything so she couldn't make it. :-( My dad did get to come though and hopefully we can plan another day to get together with everyone.

Poor Jeff, he was the only adult not being "celebrated" but he still indulged in our petite cake from coldstone creamery! And when I say petite, I mean tiny! I had orginally ordered a bigger cake but with the changing events with my grandparents going on, I wasn't sure if anyone was going to get together so I ordered a petite cake instead. It turned out to be just about right...we all had a small piece to satisfy our sweet tooth but walked away feeling guilt free!

Baby Kathryn enjoyed our hand-me-down, hand-me-down, hand-me-down swing...it worked like a charm! We don't need anything fancy here! :-)

Go Cougs! They still suck but my brother & Jeff are true Cougs!

Madeleine enjoyed seeing everyone but didn't like seeing me holding baby Kathryn when she awoke from her nap. But once Kathryn was safely sleeping in the swing and out of mommy's arms, Madeleine liked her. At first she was jealous of Kathryn even using the swing but after a time-out and a bit of explaining, she was happy to see that the "real baby" was using her swing!

Here is Sharyn holding her In-Spa gift certificate...every new mom deserves some pampering!
